Wine tells a story - Sea Pearl Sauvignon Blanc

Wine tells a story.
Like every great tale there’s the setting where the story takes place and influences that reside there make an impact on the tale’s outcome. Its these influential nuances that are realized in the glass. They include factors that affect the fruit such as unique environment contexts, farming practices and a crop's specific growth habitat. Collectively, these contextual attributes are the characters.

New Zealand’s Sea Pearl Vineyards is nestled between the Pacific Ocean and the hinterland mountains in an region referred to as the Awatere Valley.  The serene valley is the ideal setting for Sauvignon Blanc to flourish.  Due to the proximity to the ocean, Awatere Valley is cooler than other parts of Marlborough with stoney soils that result in a favorable Sauvignon Blanc packed with citrus and mineral characteristics.

It’s been said that great wine is made in the vineyard and it’s the winemakers task is to respectfully usher it to the bottle. This purist approached winemaking is the belief at Sea Pearl. They start with making certain that the vineyards are in pristine condition and harvesting occurs when the fruit is at its  optimum ripeness. This approach gives the fruit permission to honestly express herself with minimal intervention in the winery. Once picked, the brilliance is captured by being immediately pressed off with minimal skin contact.

The resulting juice is cool fermented in stainless steel to retain the natural freshness and aromatics that are ultimately tasted in one’s glass. A remarkable ending to a thoughtfully story that to be revisited in the bottle or convenient can.

Sea Pearl Sauvignon Blanc has  lovely light straw with slight green hues.  The nose has refreshing herbal notes, juicy melon, and fresh guava. This is a light-bodied, refreshing with typical Marlborough flavors of passion fruit, gooseberry, and grapefruit leading to a long, lingering finish.

Enjoy with seafood such as grilled halibut, chicken & vegetable kabobs, creative salads or simply on its own.

Wine tells a story and this one is worthy of being retold again and again. It’s highly recommended you catch the wave. We’re loving the wine-on-the-go can for picnics, beach bonfires or simply patio sipping.

Life's fast, sip slow.
