Under the Stars : Dining with purpose.

My next delicious writing assignment comes with an inspiring view and supports an important cause. Looking forward to attending an "Evening under the Stars" in picturesque Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

Ranch to Table Dinner

A meal to remember. Finishing up my Blacktie Northwest article on a remarkable evening with the Inland NW Food Network. Feeling rather blessed having experienced this delicious event.

A little night music : Barrister Winery

Thank you Greg Lipsker. We had a lovely evening listening to music in urban courtyard. Beautiful evening with great friends and remarkable wine.

Blissfully buying local ART

It's been a long time coming but today I commissioned Art from the talented Neicy Frey. I've been fan girling her work for a good decade. She has many diverse styles but I wanted something from her passionate flower series that I experienced many years ago when I attended an art show at a small downtown gallery. Someday, I thought. Well, today was some day. It'll be a few months before its ready but as they say, you can't hurry love. The photo is very rough sketch she did to discuss composition. I adore the very rough sketch. Thanks Neicy Frey

Farm to Table, a not-to-miss soirée

Thrilled to be covering this delicious event as a writer/photog for Blacktie Northwest. Maybe you should get a ticket and join myself and Kara Lucio Siemens.
Inland NW Food Network is hosting a "Ranch to Table" dinner on July 17th 4pm at Castle Rock Ranch Summer Camp. This will showcase ingredient grown right on the ranch plus lots of seasonal offerings from local farms & gardens. It's a once a year magical event you won't want to miss.
Go to Inland NW Food Network for ticket information.

Rogue from the Recipe : Salsa

This Avocado Mango Salsa hardly resembles the original recipe, I carefully cut out of a Martha Stewart Living magazine in the mid 90's.

It's better!
Be fearless in the kitchen and go rogue from recipe and delicious things happen.
Here's the Recipe: Ladle over chicken, skirt steak or with warm tortillas.
*2-3 avocados cubed *3T fresh lime juice (2 limes)  *1 mango cubed *1 sm seedless cucumber cut into 1/4" pieces *2 T thinly sliced red onion  *Coarsely chopped fresh cilantro to taste *Habanero pepper diced *Jalapeño pepper diced *Coarse salt and freshly ground pepper to taste. *Dash hot sauce
Confession: Sometimes I just add stuff, such as organic heirloom cherry tomatoes or freshly diced peaches.
Serve within an hour or refrigerate in airtight container for up to 3 hours
